The composition and light work excellently and the b&w was a good choice too.
I like that you composed it at a "skewed" angle, and not so that the long straight lines go vertically or diagonally, but somewhere in between. That gives the scene a certain tension and sense of movement.

I do like diagonals in my abstracts, as you said they impart a sense of tension or movement. And let's admit it; abstract photos need all the jazzing up you can manage.
